Notes & Combos

Volviendo por aca con los buenos paleos!

Returning to these lands with a trap deck once again! This time, it's the return of Paleozoics, now combined with a few Labrynth cards.

Why this combination?

Basically, because it solves one of Paleozoic's biggest weaknesses in the late game. Once you've gone through most of your resources in longer duels, the Labrynth boss monster fixes that problem by letting you recover any Normal Trap from your Graveyard, including your Paleozoic traps. That's incredibly powerful.

On top of that, it gives the deck a solid boss monster that can interrupt your opponent's plays. Paleozoics have always lacked a truly impactful boss monster. While Anomalocaris can fill that role, it sometimes feels a bit underwhelming. Labrynth helps solve that issue.

Another thing Labrynth brings to the deck is a Level 2 monster, Stovie Torbie. Any Level 2 monster is always worth considering alongside Paleozoics because of the synergy. Stovie Torbie can search Big Welcome Labrynth, which provides additional interruptions. Even better, you can search Stovie Torbie with Spright Gigantic, making the combo very consistent.

This is especially helpful because the deck's opening turns are fairly straightforward and don't put up as many interruptions as the Spright version I showcased previously.

Overall, this deck is all about control and resource recovery. In short, that's the main game plan: outlast your opponent, recycle your traps, and slowly take over the duel.
